This release introduces major workflow enhancements focused on standards alignment, document management, and intake flexibility, along with general usability improvements and bug fixes.
Major Enhancements
Series-Specific Classification Standards
USA Class now incorporates series-specific classification standards directly into the Factor Levels workflow, improving drafting accuracy and reducing downstream revisions.
- The standard used for AI generation is automatically selected based on your Target Job Series selection
- When language for certain subfactor levels is not available in the series-specific standard, AI generation falls back on the primary standard for below-common subfactor levels
- Classifiers are still required to draft their own statement for above-common subfactor levels
References Redesign
The References section has been redesigned for improved clarity and integration with the series-specific standards workflow.
- References are now selected in the Factor Levels step, not the PD Builder step
- References used for AI generation are automatically included
- The list of available references has been updated to a comprehensive list of all OPM classification standards, guides, and flysheets
- Classifiers can add custom references
Document Management
New document management capabilities provide clearer organization and visibility into uploaded files associated with a request.
- Any assigned user can download or manage Documents attached to their request, including Organizational Charts, Existing Position Descriptions, and Supporting Files
- Org Chart and Existing PD documents can be downloaded but not managed from the Document tray — the tray directs users to manage those files in Position Details and Major Duties
- Any user can upload up to 10 supporting files per request at any time. Supporting files can be downloaded, deleted, and updated in the Document tray
Existing PD Upload
Users can now upload an existing Position Description as a starting point for drafting major duties. Three intake options are now available:
- Use an existing PD exactly as written — Major duty titles, statements, and percentages are pulled verbatim into USA Class. Users can adjust language before submitting for review
- Use an existing PD as a reference — The uploaded PD is used as source material for AI-generated major duties
- No existing PD — Answer three prompts to begin AI-generating major duties
Org Chart Upload
An organizational chart upload has been added to the Position Details step, supporting more informed drafting and review.
Recycle Bin
Deleted requests can now be recovered from a new Recycle Bin, protecting against accidental deletion.
- The Recycle Bin is accessible from the left navigation panel
- Users can only see requests they deleted or have permission to view
- Requests are permanently deleted from the Recycle Bin after 90 days
Integrated Bug Reporting
Users can now submit bug reports directly within USA Class via the "Report Bug" link in the left navigation.
Bug Fixes & Minor Enhancements
- Workflow status accuracy: Requests opened from the Request Manager now reflect concurrent edits from other active users without requiring a browser refresh
- Factor Levels destructive action warning: A modal now warns users when selecting a new target job series may cause them to lose existing work
- Formatting consistency improvements in Preview and Export
- UI adjustments for clearer editing and content display
- Accessibility enhancements across updated pages
- Validation, scrolling, and layout stability improvements
